A real decision is measured by the fact that you've taken a new action. If there's no action, you haven't truly decided.

Defending Champs back for
Hansa Fish Record bid
CRADOCK
THE HANSA Fish River Canoe Marathon has been bolstered by the news that triple K2 champions Hank McGregor and Grant van der Walt have confirmed that they will be back to defend their title as McGregor attempts to claim a record fifth back-to-back doubles title this coming weekend.
The Hansa Fish this year will take place the weekend after the World Marathon Championships in Copenhagen, which means that the best paddlers in the country will be under a lot of pressure to recover from the rigors of travel and the World Championships.
McGregor and Van der Walt really backed their chances of challenging for the world K2 title, although their chances were dashed after they had a disastrous SA trial and didn’t make the team, but this has given them an opportunity to be even better prepared for the Hansa Fish this year because they can get out of Copenhagen before everyone else.
“We are going to high-tail it out of Copenhagen after our K1 races on Saturday afternoon and head for home,” said McGregor. “It is going to buy us an extra critical 24 hours over the other guys to recover, shake off the jetlag and get down to Cradock for the Hansa Fish.”
It’s a race where McGregor and Van der Walt are at their best because they are relaxed and thrive in the vibe of the unique two-day race in the Klein Karoo, which will be held in Cradock over the weekend.

HOFMEYRDORP- EN DISTRIK WORD stofstorm 003

TRANSNET FREIGHT RAIL CONDUCTS ITS
ANNUAL MAINTENANCE PROGRAMME ALONG THE
PORT ELIZABETH – POSTMASBURG
MANGANESE ORE LINE
During the period 1 to 10 October 2013, Transnet Freight Rail will conduct its annual major maintenance programme along the Port ElizabethPostmasburg Manganese Ore Railway Line. As a result of this intensive maintenance programme, there will be increased traffic and activities on the public roads near the railway lines.
You are kindly requested to be extra vigilant whilst traveling on these roads during this period.
On 2 / 3 October 2013 the subway bridge on the N10 road at Cradock station and the level crossing at Swaershoek Cradock will be affected by these maintenance activities. The road at the bridge will be operated on a “stop / go” basis. During the period of 1 to 10 October the level crossings in the Cradock, Mortimer, Drennan and Golden Valley areas, as well as the Swaershoek level crossing, will be closed for periods of up to three hours, while the railway maintenance machines are running through the level crossings. Temporary crossings will be constructed from wooden sleepers, to allow light delivery vehicles (LDV’s) to cross the railway lines during this time. Unfortunately motor cars will not be able to cross.
In case of emergencies, please contact Deon Herbst at the Transnet Freight Rail command centre, on 048 801 8254 or 083 409 6420.
